How can you truly know what’s “right” and “wrong” for YOU if all of your beliefs come from external authority? Freedom means deciding for yourself from a place of inner exploration.
TRANSCRIPTION:
The only way to experience true freedom is to creatively destroy your own morality. How do you even know what’s right and wrong? Yes, there are feelings that you have and yet so much of what is appropriate, inappropriate, okay, not okay.
So much of that is layered on thickly through generations of other people’s experience, other people’s assumptions, other people’s beliefs, and there is nothing inherently right or wrong with any of this but how much of what you believe, how much of what you do everyday, how much of what you dare to dream of, and how much of what you fear is because of what you’ve been taught?
The reality is most of us have been taught to be afraid. We’ve been taught to be afraid of each other. We’ve been taught to be afraid of the world. We’ve even been taught to be afraid of ourselves. And as a result, most people don’t trust themselves. Most people are stuck in this grid of expectation.
This grid locking you in to your own habits. They’re not even your habits. These are things that you observed in other people. Things that you heard that you should do. So, look if you want to be free, if you actually want to experience freedom, you must first creatively destroy your own moral code, and then consciously create a new set of values. A new set of what’s right and wrong for you right now.
As long as you rely on external authority to tell you what to think, what to feel, how to live, how to behave, what’s okay, what’s not okay. As long as you rely on somebody else’s voice, there’s no way that your vision stands a chance. You want to be free? Then you’d better be willing to craft your own freedom.
One thought, one feeling, one action at a time. Until you creatively destroy your own morality and consciously create a new set of morals, what you believe is right, what you believe is wrong, until you do that, you’re not free. This requires courage. It requires imagination. Both of which are available to you. But that is the limit of your life. Courage, imagination.
Courage and imagination. The more you exercise your courage, and the more you exercise your imagination, this is the spectrum of your life experience. Nobody can do it for you. In fact, if you choose not to accept this, then chances are you will live a life copying other people.
Accepting what other people told you you should do. And if that’s your choice that’s fine, just understand what you’re choosing. At any moment you can begin to follow your own frequency. At any moment you can begin to feel for what’s right for you right now and begin to take steps one day at a time following that inner signal. C
ourage and imagination, those are available to you right now. You are rewriting the source code for your own experience of life and you don’t need anybody’s permission to do that.
