If you’ve ever been told how to think, feel, and act by anyone who claims to know Your Purpose, then you’ve been sold a Great Lie.
TRANSCRIPTION:
Have you ever been told that there is a certain set of behaviors that you have to do in order to get life right? Have you ever been encouraged by someone to live a certain way so that you can fulfill some previously ascribed values? Have you ever been convinced or maybe even coerced that there are these wrong things in life that you’re not supposed to do because someone else said that’s not okay? Or maybe you’ve even been told that you have a purpose that you don’t know about but someone else does. And if you just do what they’re telling you to do then the fulfillment of your purpose will be assured.
Does any of this resonate with you? This is the greatest lie that’s ever been sold. That you have a purpose which you don’t know about and someone else outside of you does and so it’s their job to tell you how you should live, how you should think, how you should feel, what you should and shouldn’t say, what you should want and what you shouldn’t want. But how can anyone outside of you know what’s right for you?
They haven’t lived your life. They haven’t walked in your shoes. They haven’t gone through the experiences that you’ve gone through so how can someone who hasn’t lived your life assume what’s right for you? Now sure, I’m all about good practices and good habits and finding things that work but this whole idea of what’s right for you and what’s wrong for you, there’s no one outside of you that’s qualified to give you that advice, only you are. And so the expression of your purpose, the fulfillment of your purpose, even finding your purpose, that’s an inside and out experience. And so for someone else to come along and say, let me tell you how you should live your life, it’s a lie.
Only you can know what’s right for you right now. And maybe there’s some things going on in your life that you’ve been questioning. Maybe there are things that you’ve outgrown. Maybe there are experiences in your life that you’ve had but which just don’t fit you anymore. And I’m here to tell you that it’s not only okay to question that, it’s healthy. It is completely natural to begin to question things that up until now we’ve tolerated. And there’s an entire industry that’s been built up around convincing us and telling us how we should and shouldn’t live. And some of these industries go back thousands and thousands of years.
But ultimately the choice of how to live, the choice of what’s right for you right now, ultimately that choice lies with you. Including making a choice to allow someone else to tell you how you should think, how you should feel, what you should say, what you shouldn’t do. If you choose to allow someone else to tell you how to live your life, you’re free to make that choice too. But I don’t think you’d be watching this video right now and I don’t think we’d be having this dialog unless you knew deep down inside that there’s a larger purpose for why you’re here.
I don’t know what that purpose is for you. Nobody can know what that purpose is for you except for you. But I can tell you that it’s there. And as you begin to gently question the things you’ve been taught and told and as you begin to responsibly grow and examine how you’re living your life, I think that that’s an incredible gift.
That you’re actually giving to the people around you. This world doesn’t need more conformity. What the world needs is contribution. What the worlds needs is creativity. And that’s where you come in as you begin to question and you being to explore and you begin to tell what’s right for you right now. You find yourself swiftly on the leading edge of your own personal evolution and it’s an amazing ride when you get in that alignment, you get in that flow. And every day you begin to have new experiences and new evidence and as you go to sleep every night and you look back on, did I actually do that?
Wow, that’s the expansion of your soul. And you can’t get it wrong. You just can’t get it wrong. So trust yourself. The answers are inside of you. I look forward to seeing what unfolds for you.
