There’s a lot of beauty to enjoy in this world. And it seems like travel and material success has a lot to do with that. Having more money so that you can do more things. Having more things so that you can be the person you want to be.
And, it’s been my observation that these feelings of desire and of ambition, these feelings of success and wanting to have all the things that you want to have is not going anywhere. That feeling is natural. And in my own experience, being wealthy has shifted over time. There was a time in my life when I wasn’t experiencing a lot of financial flow, I was actually experiencing the exact opposite, I was experiencing a lot of scarcity and felt my choices were really restricted.
You know we do live in this beautiful big world where money serves as a multiplier of choices. You know the more money you have the more choices you have. And my whole world sort of revolved around this horizon, this vision that I wanted to have. And that included having a big house and it included having lots of cars and at that time, that was what drove me.
And after a while I started to realize that what I really wanted was the feeling of growth, it wasn’t about the things, it was who I was becoming and the process of getting those things. But I think that the lesson of all of this is that we have an opportunity to always check in with ourselves and ask, what is it that I want right now? And just honor that.
Why not continually tune in to what’s right for you right now. But sometimes you can find yourself chasing other people’s dreams. Sometimes you can find yourself going for a goal that other people told you is important. That you have to be out there and you got to be making it happen and if you’re not making it happen, there’s something wrong with you.
And all of a sudden you say, gosh, okay, that’s the dream I need to go for. But what if it’s not? What if there’s a dream that is so unique to you? What if there’s a vision that is so originally yours that you just have to reach out there and grab it? Wealth takes so many forms.
Adventure is a form of wealth. Exploration is a form of wealth. Deep connection with other people that’s a form of wealth. Creativity is a form of wealth. You get to want what you want. There’s no right or wrong thing that you’re supposed to want. Sure, society’s going to tell you all sorts of things that are important. And if that is important for you, you’ll know. And if you’re copying somebody else’s game, you’ll know that too. The point is you always know.
You always know what’s right for you. And as you tap into that inner knowing, as you tap into that feeling of clarity, the ideas and the resources and the creativity and all of the things that it will take those will begin to show up.
There’s no right or wrong, there’s just what’s right for you, right now. So honor that. This where true wealth actually lives.
