Is there anymore complex emotion than love? What is love anyway? How many songs and movies and poems and lyrics have been written to describe this sort of indescribable feeling? It’s different for everybody and it’s different according to where you’re at in your life right now. Or regardless of how we think about love, that sensation and if we can all just agree for a moment that that sensation, that delicious feeling of being accepted and seen.
The freedom to truly be yourself. The freedom to appreciate unconditionally someone else for being who they are. Is one of the most rare and beautiful experiences that we can have as human beings. And yet, it seems that there’s a lot of seeking for something that actually doesn’t exist. And there’s a lot of words that get used that just sort of cloud people’s experiences instead of just allowing us to just feel this frequency of love that’s actually available to us all the time. So if you are looking for love, if you have love inside of you that is dying to get out, then here’s a few things that might help.
First of all, this word, love, is certainly a word that many people, seems like a lot of men use this word as a way of getting closer to something that they actually want. This word, love, is used by many women as an ideal of something that they’re chasing and trying to get to. Men seeking freedom, women seeking security. How do we find a harmony between the whole thing? How do we allow ourselves as individuals to share and to grow in this feeling?
Well, here’s what it comes down to. In my observation and my experience, love is an inside out phenomenon. It’s not something to be gained on the outside and pulled inside and then we can then feel it. This feeling of love is actually an ever-present vibration. You might call that vibration an emotion. You might call it a sensation. But this frequency that we as a species call love that’s something you have access to every moment of your life.
So instead of holding other people sort of emotionally hostage, where if they behave a certain way you’ll allow yourself to feel that feeling. Instead of holding yourself to conditions that you’ll suppress your own inner signal just to make other people happy so that maybe they can then give you the thing that you really want. What if we could just, each of us in our unique way, begin to operate from a self-authorized perspective where we can accept ourselves fully, as you are right now. Without judgment, without expecting anything different. Just accept yourself plainly and fully as you are because self-acceptance is the foundation of self-love and there can be no actual love shared with another human being unless it comes from self-love. And I’m not talking about being selfish and narcissistic and it’s all about you.
What I am suggesting is that having an unconditional appreciation, having an unconditional, unlimited acceptance of who and what and how you are in this world, that’s the foundation of all of this. Because if you’re going to actually share this beautiful feeling that we call love with another person, if you’re going to share this frequency of love with other people, doesn’t it just make sense that that frequency can and must be shared from a place of true ownership?
Expecting other people to provide you with that thing so that you can then hang onto it and then pass it to somebody else, that’s a zero sum game. Completely out of alignment with the laws of the universe that we live in. This universe, look around you, this universe is unlimited in every way. This universe is expanding in every way. And you’re a part of that universe so that frequency that we call love, that sensation, is actually available to you right now. It’s in you right now. And if you allow yourself to begin to feel that frequency that we call love and you allow yourself to feel and then to experience and then to express that frequency you will find inevitably that the people around you, the experiences you start to have, will begin to match and merge with that frequency.
To put it simply, the more loving experiences you allow yourself to have towards yourself, towards the world, towards others, the more you’ll find that being reflected back to you. And then all you have to do is receive it. Allow it, let it in. And I’ll bet if you really think about it, if you allow yourself to feel for the truth of this. If you allow yourself to verify for yourself right now that there are experiences of love available to you in this moment.
Right now in your life with the exact people who are in your life right now. With the exact opportunities you have in your life right now. There are abilities, opportunities to feel more of that. So just allow yourself, just allow yourself to feel the fullness of that. Allow yourself to experience it and to express it without condition, without judgment and watch as your capacity for love increases. You’re not some limited container holding a finite amount of this precious substance, to then impart upon the world. You’re not a container. You’re a conduit. It’s available to you as much as you can allow and as much as you can express.
So to be in love is to be in that frequency. To love someone else is an act. It is a behavior, it is a sensation. And the less filter you put on that, the more of it you allow yourself to feel. The less conditions you place on it, the more of it is going to flow because it is a naturally occurring, limitless substance. Infused in ever part of your body and interstitial spaces between your cells flows this currency that we as human beings can call love.
You want more of it in your life? Be more of it in your life without condition and watch as the rest of your life begins to reflect that. Here’s to the lovers of the world and that means you.
